On January 17, 2007, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Protective Measures in Foreign Trade and the Customs Tariff Policy was held under the chairmanship of G.O. Gref, Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, in the Ministry's premises
At the meeting, the decision was made on granting a customs preference in the form of a lower rate of customs duty for aircraft imported temporarily from abroad under leasing contracts for a period of up to three years. More specifically, the rate of customs duty for aircraft of no more than 50 seats will be 8 percent of the customs value, that for aircraft of more than 115 seats and no more than 160 seats, 10 percent of the customs value. As far as adjustment of customs duty rates for combine harvesters is concerned, the decision was made not to extend the period of validity of the Government of the Russian Federation's Order No. 526, dated August 29, 2006, ?On Extension of the Period of Validity for Provisional Rates of Import Customs Duties for Certain Goods? in the part relating to new combine harvesters.
