On December 27, 2006, a meeting of G.O. Gref, Minister for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Igor Dodon, Minister of Economy and Trade of the Republic of Moldova, was held at premises of the Russian Federation Ministry for Economic Development and Trade

M.Yu. Medvedkov, Director of the Department of Trade Negotiations of the Russian Federation Ministry for Economic Development and Trade, and V.V. Spassky, Director of the Department for Economic Cooperation with CIS Countries of the Russian Federation Ministry for Economic Development and Trade, also took part in the meeting.

Based on results of the talks, G.O. Gref and I. Dodon signed the bilateral Protocol on Completion of Negotiations between Russia and Moldavia on Russia's Admission to the WTO, and the Protocol on Cooperation between the Russian Federation Ministry for Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Republic of Moldova.

Pursuant to the Protocol on Cooperation signed, the Russian and Moldavian parties will exchange with the following on a regular basis:

- information characterizing socio-economic conditions in both countries, implementation of economic reforms, development of economic relations, including those with third parties;

- information about legislations of Russia and Moldavia in the domain of external economic activities in the following directions: businesses and entrepreneurial activities, including physical persons and legal entities of third countries; cooperation with international organizations in the sphere of external economic activities;

- information about other issues of mutual interest within competence of the parties that signed the Protocol.

Russia and Moldavia will provide, on a systematic and mutual basis, information on indicators of socio-economic development and foreign commerce, viz., on exports and imports on the whole, by commodity groups, with breakdown into groups of countries and main partner countries (within the limits established by applicable legislation of Russia and Moldavia).

The parties will hold consultations, conferences, workshops, and other events, exchange with practical experience on various economic development issues of mutual interest, including the sphere of external economic activities.
