On September 28th, 2006 Mr. A.Terentiev, the Deputy Head of the Bankruptcy Legislation Division (the Corporate Governance Department) has participated in the Second IAIR Workshop in Bucharest (Romania) and acted with the report on the topic of Latest Developments in Russian Bankruptcy Legislation and Employee Entitlements in Case of Employer’s Insolvency.

Representatives of 9 countries took part in the Bucharest Workshop. During the session reports on latest changes in bankruptcy legislation in Norway, Romania, the Great Britain, Australia, Latvia and Ireland were presented.

Due to request of the Corporate Governance Department the attention within the framework of the session was focused on questions of guaranteeing the employees’ entitlements in case of employer’s insolvency. Participants of the workshop commented on their own experience in this field and expressed their recommendations.

To prepare a detailed review of foreign experience in this matter, the Bankruptcy Legislation Division of Corporate Governance Department has prepared and forwarded IAIR the questionnaire. The review will be published on the internet site of the Ministry after receiving and editing the answers on the foreign experience of employees’ rights’ protection in case of employer’s insolvency.
