24 - 26 of April 2006 officials of Ministry have participated and acted with report at the International Association of Insolvency Regulators (IAIR) Annual General and Meeting Conference in Mexico City. IAIR - is the only international organization of united governmental (nongovernmental) bodies, operating as regulators in insolvency sphere within their countries.
There were 47 representatives from more than 20 countries and more than 25 governmental (nongovernmental) bodies. There were relevant problems of insolvency all over the world and developing provisions of insolvency legislation discussed. Particularly, bankruptcy prevention, some aspects of individual bankruptcies, electronic database and information exchange in bankruptcy sphere, recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings and foreign insolvency administrators, recognition of foreign disqualifications and other restrictions and sanctions. Moreover, the World Bank's initiatives on developments in UNCITRAL and World Bank principles & guidelines were discussed by participants.
The Ministry for economic development and trade of the Russian Federation presented the report "New Russian bankruptcy law and ways of development". The report has let participants to be acquainted with 2 stages of Russian bankruptcy reform, achievements of completed first stage of the reform and plans of the second stage realization.
